Por un Turismo Sostenible en el Mediterráneo. Encuentro.

Jordania en Hablamosdeeuropa y el turismo mediterráneo Relaciones Exteriores

    Amman, Jordania

The EIB and the Jordan Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities organise a one-day conference on how to promote sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean and meeting people’s expectations of job creation and long-term development in the aftermath of the Arab spring.

The tourism industry cannot ignore the environmental concerns (climate change, water scarcity…) facing the Mediterranean region. Appropriate policies need to be developed, possibly involving difficult choices and large investments, if the future of tourism in the region is to be safeguarded.

The event will challenge businesses and governments to address sustainability issues in the tourism sector, presenting case studies and success stories from around the Mediterranean and beyond.

Location: Royal Convention Centre at the Hotel Méridien, Queen Nour Street, Shmeisani

Encuentro sobre el Desarrollo del Transporte Europeo

Poster evento en Hablamosdeeuropa Transporte y telecomunicaciones

    Atenas

The transport sector plays a growing and catalytic role in a rapidly changing world where economic, political, social, and environmental objectives have to be met in order to ensure a consistently high level of welfare for society.

There are many different aspects to the complex world of transport: transport infrastructure, vehicles and vessels, and the environment, to name but a few.

The Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2012, which is due to be held in Athens in 2012, will enable the exchange of knowledge among those who play an active role in the transport sector and to promote the dissemination of research findings, best practices and application techniques that have been successfully implemented in some parts of the world.

At the same time, it provides experts from different disciplines with a forum for creative discussions about the future of transport.

TRA 2012 will focus on all aspects of all surface transport modes with the exception of overseas shipping.

TRA 2012 seeks to reflect the multidisciplinary nature of the transport sector and, for this reason, addresses all stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.

The main theme of TRA 2012 is "Sustainable mobility through innovation".

The EU Commissioner for Research and Innovation, Mrs Maire Geoghegan Quinn, will participate.

Your Europe, your say 2012 Conferencia

     Your Europe HablamosdeeuropaJuventud

    Bruselas

From 26 to 28 April 2012, more than 100 students and teachers from schools in every country in the European Union will be guests of the European Economic and Social Committee: for two days they will become "extraordinary members" of the EESC.

For the third year running, the EESC is organising a plenary session at the heart of Europe, where school pupils and their teachers will debate, negotiate, and thrash out consensus just as the real Committee does.

The deadline for applications is 30 November, and the candidates will be selected in December 2011. Then, three students and one teacher from each school will be invited to Brussels to express their views on the important choices facing Europe today, and to put forward their ideas and proposals, plans and dreams.
